Let’s give the car a shine today!

Martine Gagne

To get rid of salt marks and other traces that winter left behind on your car, you have to clean it as soon as springtime points its nose. To save water and minimise impact on the environment, the following are some points to keep in mind.

Grab a rag!
Did you know that commercial carwashes guzzle 260 litres of hot water per vehicle, e.g. enough to meet the daily needs of an entire family? And yet water is not an inexhaustible resource! The most ecological way to wash your car on your own is with a bucket and a rag. Fans of the garden hose can add a nozzle to control the jet of water.

Choice of soap
To reduce one’s ecological footprint even more, it is essential to choose a concentrated soap that is entirely biodegradable. This will avoid using harmful products such as phosphate, which can run into sewers or contaminate surrounding greenery.

In short, it is important to use water sparingly, because this precious resource is necessary for life! Washing your car with products that respect the environment means living in harmony with the planet.
