I compost everything from eggshells, coffeegrinds, fruit and vegetable peelings, shredded newspaper, dog hair clippings and yardwaste.
For clothes, mattresses, furniture or drapes with unpleasant odor: place in full sun for a day of natural, healthy, sun-bleached odor removal.
Green Tip is to throw away bones, food scraps into your green bin or in a compost bin and not in your garbage bag.
Use a canvas bag that can be used over and over again when you go grocery shopping. Do not accept the plastic or paper bags that the store.
It is one thing to recycle,but when you recycle, make sure the bottles and containers you are recycling are clean. You can contaminate it.
I have always used vinegar with a dash of dish soap to clean my windows no streaking and u always seem to have it on hand.
Put one sealed 1l bottle of water in the back of the toilet to save 1l of water every time you flush!
Plant a garden, and enjoy your own produce. It doesn't need to be fancy or look pretty - there can even be a few weeds! Involve your kids!
